I Didn't Start INQ Studios to Build an Agency

I started it because I couldn't stop building.

People sometimes ask where the name INQ Studios came from.

The honest answer?

It wasn't born in a boardroom. There wasn't a business plan, investors, or some grand five-year roadmap pinned to a whiteboard.

It started with curiosity. I kept asking questions:

• "Can I build this?"
• "How does this work?"
• "What if I built it differently?"

That curiosity slowly became an obsession.

The Quiet Reality of Starting Out

I wasn't surrounded by startup founders. I wasn't living in Silicon Valley. I wasn't working in a fancy office with standing desks and unlimited coffee.

I was just another student in India with a laptop, an internet connection, and far more ideas than experience.

Some days I wrote code. Some days I deleted more code than I wrote. Some days I spent six hours trying to fix a bug that turned out to be a missing environment variable.

That's software engineering.

Learning Through Broken Projects

At first, I built everything. Landing pages, dashboards, random experiments, ideas that never made it past version one. Projects that looked amazing in my head but terrible once they reached the browser.

Looking back, most of them were awful. But every broken project taught me something no tutorial ever could.

INQ Studios was built through hundreds of tiny moments nobody sees:

• Late nights.
• Failed deployments.
• Deploying again.
• Changing colors for the twentieth time because something still didn't feel right.
• Wondering whether anyone would ever pay for something I built.
• Refreshing my inbox more times than I'd like to admit.

The Turning Point

Then something changed. Someone trusted me with a real project.

It wasn't a billion-dollar company. It wasn't front-page news. It was just someone saying:

"Can you build this?"

That sentence meant more than they probably realized. Because for the first time, this wasn't just code anymore. Someone was trusting me with part of their business.

Since then I've learned something important: Clients don't care how clever your code is. They care whether you solve their problem.

Nobody celebrates your folder structure. Nobody buys because your architecture diagram looks beautiful. People remember software that works. That's the standard I've been chasing ever since.

Why Curiosity Matters

You'll notice something about INQ Studios. We don't talk much about "disrupting industries." We don't promise to revolutionize everything. Those words are easy to write—they're much harder to prove. I'd rather quietly ship good software than loudly promise impossible things.

The name INQ still reminds me why I started:

1. To stay curious.
2. To keep asking better questions.
3. To never stop learning.

Technology changes every year. Curiosity doesn't.

Looking Forward

INQ Studios is still small. There are bigger agencies, more experienced engineers, companies with teams ten times our size.

I'm okay with that. Because I'm not trying to become someone else. I'm trying to build a studio that I'd be proud to hire myself.

The funny thing is... I still feel like I'm at the beginning. Every project teaches me something. Every client changes how I think. Every mistake forces me to become a better engineer.

Maybe that's what building a company really is: not reaching some finish line, but just getting a little better every time you ship.
